A catch-all email mailbox is one that collects all the messages sent to inactive email addresses. For instance, if your email address is info@domain.com, but someone misspells it and sends an email message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have set up. Only one mailbox per domain name can have this feature enabled and in this way you’ll never miss emails because the other party has an obsolete address or has made a typo. The negative aspect of creating a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving a lot of unsolicited messages, but this problem can be rectified by using anti-spam protection software. It is also essential to know that a mailbox with an enabled catch-all feature cannot redirect inbound emails to a third-party address.
Catch-all Emails in Hosting
You will be able to create a catch-all e-mailbox effortlessly in case you’ve got a hosting account with us. The Email Manager in our custom-built Hepsia hosting Control Panel is feature-rich, yet extremely user-friendly, and it will enable you to enable different features, including the catch-all one, with only a couple of clicks. All the email addresses that you’ve created will be enumerated in alphabetical order in this section and on the right side of each one of them you will see a small "Catch-all" logo. Clicking on it once will activate the feature, clicking it twice will deactivate it. As you can have only one such mailbox per domain name, our system will warn you if you already have a different one with this feature enabled or if you have active email forwarding.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
The catch-all feature can be activated without any effort in case you have a semi-dedicated server account with us. All the email addresses that you have created with the domain names hosted in your account will be listed in the Hepsia Control Panel’s Email Manager section and you will notice a small button handily situated directly next to each of them. With only one click, you can activate or deactivate the catch-all option for any mailbox of your preference on the condition that there isn't another mailbox under that same domain with this option already enabled and there isn't active email forwarding. Alternatively, you can right-click on a mailbox and activate this option through the contextual menu that will pop up. If any of the requirements for configuring a catch-all mailbox is not met, our system will notify you, but will not deactivate or replace anything automatically.
