A catch-all email mailbox is one that collects all the messages sent to inactive email addresses. For instance, if your email address is firstname.lastname@example.org, but someone misspells it and sends an email message to email@example.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have set up. Only one mailbox per domain name can have this feature enabled and in this way you’ll never miss emails because the other party has an obsolete address or has made a typo. The negative aspect of creating a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving a lot of unsolicited messages, but this problem can be rectified by using anti-spam protection software. It is also essential to know that a mailbox with an enabled catch-all feature cannot redirect inbound emails to a third-party address.
